Emma Ann Robbins was born on December 1, 1943 in Glen Cove, NY. She was the fourth of five children born to Richard Underhill Robbins and Margaret Robbins. Emma often shared memories of growing up in Long Island, attending Catholic school, fun at Jones Beach and later, working for Aetna Insurance in New York City. Following marriage, Emma was the first of her siblings to move from Long Island, coming to Dallas, Texas to start her family. After many years as a homemaker, Emma worked at various DFW area companies but her favorite memories were 10 years as an elementary school teacher's aide in Lillian, Texas.
Emma had a passion for painting, sewing, crafts and nature. A devout Catholic, Emma was very active at St. Matthews church in Arlington, Texas during the 1970's and her family played an active role in hosting Vietnamese families escaping Communism following the Vietnam War. Emma enjoyed travel to see family and friends back in New York and in Southern California. Later in life, Emma spent weekends with her husband Frank caring for their animals, enjoying family gatherings and taking long drives in the country.
Emma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Frank Miller; Thomas Pitre; brother, William Robbins and sister, Elizabeth Donovan. She is survived by her two sons, Mathew Pitre and wife Robin of Keller, TX; Gregory Pitre and wife Nicole of Keller, TX; sister Jane Svoboda and husband Robert of Wading River, NY; sister Geri Reisert of Oceanside, CA; grandchildren Hayden, Mason, Grant, Landon, Gavin, and Gwen Pitre of Keller, TX and several nieces and nephews.
Services:
A Liturgy of the Word service will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, November 26th, 2019 at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Keller, Tx. Additionally, a memorial marker for Emma will be placed with Frank at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
