Elley was preceded in death by her father, William Babcock, and mother, Iva Babcock.
Elley was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, on January 5, 1954, at Lincoln General Hospital to William and Iva Babcock. She was the oldest of seven children. Elley was baptized on September 9, 1973, in a backyard pool as a Jehovah’s Witness. She met her future husband, Kevin, when her father was renting out campsites on their land for assembly attendees for Jehovah’s Witnesses. On April 30, 1977, she married Kevin Anderson at his family’s Sioux Falls, South Dakota, home. Her wedding flowers were lilacs from the garden, and shortly after, they began what would grow into a beautiful family of six. They moved to Texas in 1983 and called Midlothian home. Elley’s occupation was a horse whisperer, snake wrangler, coyote chaser, possum catcher, bobcat trapper, and housewife. Her passions were horse riding, gardening, pen & ink drawings, raising prize-winning chickens, and baking. Elley was always cooking meals for her family. Her potato salad, cookies, pies, bbq sauce, and runzas were famous with everyone. She loved every minute she spent with her grandchildren and was always up for an adventure, including playing sharks and minnows in the pool. She would say, “I have the best grandkids, my little peas in a pod.” Elley’s love for her family was unconditional; she will live in our hearts forever.
