Edward Alan Reddy

An amazing father, husband and papaw, Edward Alan Reddy, has passed away at the young

age of 71. After a long year of battling cancer, stokes, seizures, blood infections and heart

disease, his fight is over.

Ed was born in Coleman, Texas to Herman Edward Reddy and Melba Claire Prince Reddy of

Gainesville, Texas. Ed grew up in Nocona and Gainesville helping his parents work at the

family’s men’s clothing store along with his older sister, Mary Jean Warren. Ed graduated from

Gainesville High School in 1964 and enlisted in the Air Force. In 1966, Ed met and married the

love of his life, Patricia Doyle from Rock Springs, Georgia. After serving his country for eight

years, Ed left the Air Force to raise his family in Arlington, Texas, where he worked hard for 23

years at Royal Business Forms.

Ed was a loving and devoted husband. He was passionate about his family and supported his

children in everything they did. He spent many hours throwing and catching baseballs or

softballs, cheering at his children’s sporting events and helping with school projects. Ed taught

them to take pride in their work and to never give up. Ed passed down his love of antique cars

to his grandchildren. His love of old westerns, coin collecting and listening to “the oldies” lives

on in his granddaughter and he shared his hobby of fishing with his son and grandson.

Together, the family shared his sense of humor, knack for telling jokes and love of laughing with

him.

Ed is survived by his best friend and wife of 50 years, Patricia, son John and daughter-in-law

Sallie Reddy, daughter Heather Juarez, grandson Shane Reddy, granddaughter Macie Juarez,

sister Mary Jean Warren, Aunt Beth Sanders, sister-in-law Peggy Calahan, sister-in-law Kathy

Eaves, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great nephews, great nieces and many

friends.
