Ed Lee, beloved husband of Muriel Lee, Santa Claus to many, and friend to all, passed away on March 16, 2017. He died in Fort Worth Texas, a long way from Staten Island, New York where he was born. At 16 he enlisted in the Army Air Corps, which led to a lifetime career in the Air Force with stations in many foreign countries. On exiting that life, Ed began another lifetime career as an insurance consultant, helping hundreds of Texans protect their lives and property.
While he was stationed in Taiwan, he donned a Santa suit for the first time and visited an orphanage, giving out candy. That began a 54 year Christmas season tradition of visiting orphanages, the Texas State School, retirement homes, shut-ins and friend’s children as Santa. It was probably his favorite thing to do.
He is survived by his wife Muriel, his brother Daniel, his daughters Patricia and Deborahsue, his stepsons, Bryce, Barry and Brian, 10 grandchildren and many greatgrandchildren, in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends that love him. He was preceeded in death by his wife Winnie and brothers Lenny and Bob.
A military memorial will be held on May 1 at 1pm at the DFW National Cemetery and a Celebration of Life will be held on May 2 at 1pm at First Jefferson Unitarian Universalist Church in Fort Worth.
Arrangements under the direction of NEPTUNE SOCIETY - Fort Worth, Fort Worth, TX.
