Earl held a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from UTA. He served as a 2nd Lt. in the US Army. He was a versatile individual, excelling in various trades; he owned a scuba shop, worked for Tandy, the Leather Craft magazine, was a radio announcer, and loved photography. Earl loved his family, and many fondest times were spent at his cabin at Possum Kingdom.
He began his journey in the entertainment industry as the “real” Santa Clause for nearly 30 years! He was chosen by American Airlines as the poster Santa for more leg room! This was quite an honor!!
This led to his passion for clowning. Earl was a natural, and his characters were unlimited; he loved to perform. As well as being Grandadee and Billy Whiskers the clown, he also developed his most famous character, Professor Moon. He performed over 250 Harry Potter Shows at various venues! He was father time, a lead ballerina in a skit competition at the Texas Clown convention, a hillbilly for birthday story grams, Earlene, and was a jokester for all. He loved to write up skits to fit the venue he performed at and won 1st place on the stage of Circus Circus while attending the Mooseburger clown convention!!!
Earl found his true purpose as a children’s entertainer for children from 1-100. His volunteer work was numerous and showed his caring heart and wanting to help others; whether someone going out the door at the grocery store, or a new clown who was struggling. Earl’s memory will be cherished by all who knew him, as he left a lasting impact through his dedication, talents and big heart.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Abundant Home Health Hospice of Arlington for taking such good care of Earl. Special thank you’s to Lilliana who was present with him five days each week; the nurses Darla and Corenda for paying close attention to his needs; many thanks to the continued care nurse, Wesley who watched Earl overnight; and Julie who showed so much compassion, care and respect as Earl passed.
