Donnell Harold Wheat

With a saddened heart but grateful for eternal life, we announce the peaceful passing of Donnell H. Wheat on August 2, 2023 at his home in Fort Worth. Don was born in Graham, Texas on January 18, 1944 to Travis and Audrey Wheat. He moved to Fort Worth in 1956 and graduated from Paschall High School in 1962. Don was a loyal Texas Tech Red Raider and earned a business degree. He was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity.

After graduating he joined the Air Force and was stationed in Lakenheath, England until 1972. He later attended graduate school at A&M Commerce. In 1973 he married Diane Hudson in Dallas. They moved to Fort Worth in 1975 where Don worked in subcontract management at Lockheed for 36 years.

He was a loyal member of First United Methodist Church for 35 years. He lived a life defined by his faith in God and love for his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Travis and Audrey, and by his brother, David. He is survived by his wife Diane; their son, Travis and his wife Ericka and daughters Katelyn, Maddie, and Lacey.

A celebration of life will by held at Leonard Chapel at First United Methodist Church on Tuesday, August 29th at 2:00 PM.
