Donald (Don) Glen Rollins of Mineral Wells, Texas passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at the age of 64. Don was born on September 9, 1961, in Arkansas City, Kansas. He lived most of his childhood in Salesville and Whitt, Texas. He graduated from Mineral Wells High School in 1979. Don worked as carpenter and handyman, but his primary passion was serving as a minister of the gospel preaching and teaching at churches and in prison ministries in Mineral Wells and the surrounding area. He was actively involved in the ministries of the Southside Church of Christ.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Lester Lee and Daisy Lucille Rollins; his brother Raymond Leroy Rollins, his niece Pamela, and nephews Jesse and Zakary. He is survived by his siblings Betty Rollins (Ray’s wife), (Dublin, TX), Larry and Tammy Rollins (Mineral Wells, TX), Deborah and Craig Sikes (El Paso, TX), Peggy and Michael Mizell (Mountain View, AR), Johnny and Shawn Rollins (Weatherford, TX), and Frank and Marie Rollins (Mineral Wells, TX); and his daughters Melissa (Missy) Adkins (Weatherford, TX) and Christina (Tina) Rollins (Weatherford, TX). His grandchildren include Dillon Carter (Mineral Wells, TX), Kayson Carter (Mineral Wells TX), Hailey McCafferty (Mineral Wells TX), Lexie McCafferty (Mineral Wells TX), and Damien Adkins (Mineral Wells TX), and honorary granddaughter, Vaydin Arendall (Whitt, TX). He had two great grandsons, Jameson and Weston Spurlock (Mineral Wells, TX).
Don enjoyed the outdoors especially fishing and swimming. He loved gadgets and was adept at making things work. He especially enjoyed the times he got to be the elf and hand out presents at Christmas time. He loved teaching Bible studies and serving the Lord. While he struggled for many years in his physical body, he continued serving right up to the end of his life. His family rallied around him to provide as much love and support as they could as he fought the good fight. He was a very loved man who proclaimed on the Sunday morning before he went home to heaven that he knew he would be healed when he left this life. His life exemplified the scripture, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” II Timothy 4:7.
The family would like to thank all the healthcare providers who assisted in Don’s care throughout his journey, especially Chris Erwin, APRN, FNP-C of the Accountable Care Now in Mineral Wells. Chris was not only an excellent provider, but he also loved and cared for Don throughout the various stages of his long illness.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life service at the Southside Church of Christ located at 1401 SE 25th Ave, Mineral Wells, TX on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 11:00 am. Visitation with the family will begin at 10:30 am prior to the service.
