Dolores Carol Sherrard

Dolores Carol (Bates) Sherrard of Burleson passed away September 11, 2026, surrounded by her family. Dolores was born February 12, 1957, in Dallas, Texas. Dolores grew up one of three sisters born to Wayne and Eva Nell Bates. She graduated from Lamar High School in 1975. Dolores married Jackie "Jack" Sherrard on August 30, 1983, and made their home in Burleson. They were blessed by the love of two daughters, Tiffany and Amber.

Dolores had many interests over the years including camping, beach adventures, and joining in the fun of whatever adventures life brought her way. Most of all, she enjoyed the company and conversation of family and friends. She is best remembered as a loyal friend with a fierce devotion to her family. She adored her grandchildren and treated her many pets over the years as family. Those who loved her were blessed by her laughter, unyielding extension of grace, and the compassion of a caregiver's spirit.

She held a steadfast faith in the Lord and stood firm on the promise of eternal life with Him. We find comfort in knowing she rests in His peace, free of the pain and sorrow of this earth. "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." Revelation 21:4

Dolores is survived by her two daughters and their families: Tiffany (Jeff) Truitt of Joshua, and Amber Sherrard (Casey Adrion) of Burleson. Grandchildren are Zoey, Gunner, Meleah, Cannon, Derringer, Kimber, and great-grandson Beckham. Sisters are Nelda (Dennis) Darden and Shirley (Steve) Riley, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her spouse of 41 years, Jackie Wayne Sherrard, and parents Wayne and Eva Nell Bates.
