Dean Lee Sullivan, aged 82, passed away on January 8, 2024. He was a beloved father, husband, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Dean, known to many as “Sully”, was born on July 21, 1941. He grew up in Hamel, Minnesota graduating from Wayzata High School in 1959 where his small high school team won the Minnesota State basketball tournament. He went on to attend and play basketball at Regis University in Denver Colorado and later became a successful businessman and entrepreneur while moving to multiple cities across the USA, and settling in Houston (Humble) Texas for over 40 years. Throughout his successful career, he was known for his hard work, an energetic and magnetic personality, and passion for “moving the ball” forward in both business and in life.
But more than anything, Dean was a devoted husband and father. He loved spending time with his beloved wife Mary of 61 years and his 3 children Mike, Scott, and Amy. As a family, Dean enjoyed coaching/attending childhood sports games, family trips, and gathering to laugh, tell stories and simply hangout with friends and family. He was always there to offer positive guidance and support, wisdom and trusted advice no matter what was occurring in anyone’s life. In his free time, Dean enjoyed golf, playing cards, travel to exciting destinations, preferring places where he could see and enjoy his cherished family and friends living in different parts of the world.
Dean is survived by his loving wife, Mary, his children, Mike (Jean) Sullivan, Scott (Joni) Sullivan, and Amy (Rick) Siegfried, and his grandchildren, Chris and Riley Sullivan, Zachary, Paige and Brooke Sullivan, Maggie, Max, and Nate Siegried, Alex (Tyler) Fondrk, and sister Maureen Carlson. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him and he will be greatly missed.
A celebration of life will be held for family and friends in the near future. In lieu of cards or flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
