Daniel Ross Thomas

Daniel “Danny” Ross Thomas passed from this life peacefully in Fort Worth, Texas on December 20, 2021 at the age of 84 years.

Daniel is survived by his wife, Ima Gene Huff Thomas; his children, Danny Thomas (Kim), Eric Thomas (Lee Ann), Tammy McCrady (John); his sister, Cloyse Williams; his grandchildren, Dustalei Kelley (Clinton), Daniel “Rowdy” Thomas, Keegan McCrady, Keely McCrady; his great-grandchildren, Danalei Kelley, Makynlei Kelley, CJ Kelley. He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Rebecca Thomas; his grandson, Lane Thomas.

Daniel was born on October 24, 1937 in Kilgore, Texas to Daniel “Sam” Elmer Thomas and Mary Marguerite “Rete” Lester Thomas. He graduated from Leverett’s Chapel High School in 1956. He married Ima Gene Huff, his high school sweetheart, in June of 1957. Daniel joined the National Guard while in High School, then after graduation entered the United States Naval Airforce. He completed his four year tour of duty as a Second Class Petty Officer.

Through the years Daniel held various positions in a sales related career. He was also an accomplished horseman and excelled at training and showing horses. He was passionate about God, his family, and the United States of America. He was a member of the Church of Christ and always wanted to share his faith with other people.

A memorial service will be scheduled a later date. The family suggests any memorials made in Daniel’s honor be made to the Wounded Warriors Foundation or to the World Bible Institute.
