Daniel Wade Hopkins was born October 5, 1956 to Edwin Hopkins and Loma Rogers who preceded him in death.
Dan lived life to the fullest, spreading joy and laughter wherever he went. A natural born storyteller, he captivated friends and family with tales so fantastic they bordered on legend.
He found a perfect role as Santa Claus, a part he played at countless children’s events, bringing magic and cheer to young and old alike. A performer at heart, Dan would belt out old rock and roll songs in his own humorous style at stand-up shows, leaving audiences in stitches. He loved to dance, celebrating life’s moments with boundless energy and infectious enthusiasm.
A die-hard fan of the New Orleans Saints, Dan could always be seen in his black and gold gear during football season, cheering his team with unwavering loyalty. Known for his unique sense of style, he turned every occasion into a party.
But perhaps his greatest gift was his generosity. Whether it was offering a helping hand, supporting those in need, or simply showing kindness to strangers, Dan had a heart big enough for everyone.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and compassion that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Loma, sisters Nina and Kay, and his brother Rick. He is survived by his wife Cheryl, his son Stefan, granddaughter Evalynn; his brothers, Lance (Maria) and Vance (Lawana), sister, Pallie (Patrick), numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, Christian family, Scouts family, relatives and friends who will forever cherish the stories, laughter, and joy he brought into their lives.
Celebration of Dan's Life to be held Sunday, March 9 at 1 pm at Pursuit Fellowship Church, 665 W. Pipeline Road, Hurst, Texas 76053. Refreshments to follow in Fellowship Hall.
