Coy Dean Martin

Coy Dean Martin, 84, passed away Sunday September 15, 2024 at his home in Denton, Texas. Coy was born June 3, 1940 in Cushman, Arkansas. Coy was a member of the U.S. Navy from November 1957 - May 1962. He was an original member of the Navy Chuting Stars at the Naval Air Station in El Centro, California. Coy retired as a Quality Assurance Branch Chief January 2, 1998 after a 42 year career at NASA / Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. In 2003 Coy and Shirley moved to Robson Ranch in Denton, Texas.

Coy is preceded in death by his parents Alvis and Willene Martin, brother, Glen Martin, sister, Linda Martin Sage and daughter, Glenda Russ. Coy is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years Shirley A. Martin, sisters Janice and Kathy, son Alvin Martin and wife Zhanna, daughter Deanna Fungafat and husband Ron and stepson Brad Barber and wife Angie, granddaughters Sara, Jennifer, Traci and Julie. Grandsons Connor and Luke, step grandchildren Robert and Abbie and six great grandchildren. Coy also leaves behind many dear friends who were an important part of his life.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Alvin, Ron, Brad, Robert, Connor and Luke. The family request in lieu of flowers that donations be made in honor of Coy to the Salvation Army and Denton animal shelter.
