Billy Thomas Keeton, 74, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 28, 2017 from lung cancer. Memorial service will be Friday, April 7 at 10 a.m. at First Methodist Church of Hurst. Interment to follow at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Billy requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Presbyterian Night Shelter of Fort Worth or to SnowballExpress.org. Born August 29, 1942 in Hillsboro, TX, he was preceded in death by father Luther Thomas Keeton, mother Johnnie Beatrice Staggs, and first wife Sherron Lou Hickey. Billy graduated from Carter Riverside High School in 1960 and served in the US Air Force 1961-1965. Billy’s entire career was at Bell Helicopter from June 1965 until his final retirement in 2009. He held various positions during that time and especially enjoyed 15 years as a supervisor, where he could teach and mentor others. Since his retirement, he has been an avid golfer, a volunteer at DFW National Cemetery, a Stephen Minister, a supporter of Snowball Express, and a willing volunteer in many capacities. Billy was an honest gentleman, a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was blessed by a wealth of friends who will miss his clever mind and caring heart. Billy is survived by his wife and best friend Linda, daughter Shelly Mims and husband Danny, daughter Robin Chandler, son Brian Ragsdale and wife Loretta, daughter Jennifer Wright and husband Zechariah. His Keeton and Staggs cousins were a great joy to him and many survive him and will keep his memory alive. His message to his grandchildren Craig, Jessica, Zachary, Victoria, Nicholas, Jamie, Rendan, Rylea, Aydan, Ashtyn and great-grandson Ian is to always remember to “Aim for the stars.” Arrangements under the direction of NEPTUNE SOCIETY - Fort Worth, Fort Worth, TX.
