William "Bill" Spiers Woolery, Jr., a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2025, in Sugar Hill, Georgia. Born on July 7, 1945, he was raised in Jacksonville, Florida.
Bill honorably served his country as a veteran before embarking on a distinguished career in banking and higher education. He worked in Human Resources for Wells Fargo Bank and later held leadership roles as the MBA Placement Director at the University of Georgia and the Executive MBA Director at Georgia State University. His dedication to his profession left a lasting impact on colleagues.
Bill shared a loving marriage with his wife, Patricia Woolery. Together, they built a family filled with love and cherished memories in Marietta and Sugar Hill, Georgia. He is survived by Patricia; his daughter Amy Woolery Hasty and her husband Jim Hasty; his son William "Trey" Spiers Woolery, III and his wife Mandy White Woolery; and five beloved grandchildren: Parker Marcantel, Gavin Woolery, Jackson Marcantel, Conner Marcantel, and Ava Woolery. Bill was also a twin and is survived by his brother Marty Woolery and his wife Judy Woolery.
An avid sports enthusiast throughout his life, Bill enjoyed playing golf and tennis in his younger years. In recent years, he found immense joy in supporting his grandchildren’s sports and activities. His unwavering faith was a cornerstone of his life, offering comfort to those who loved him as they take solace in knowing he is now embraced by Jesus.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. at Sugar Hill Church, located at 5091 Nelson Brogdon Blvd., Sugar Hill, GA 30518.
Bill’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sugar Hill Church.
