Bill was born in Atlanta, GA in 1951 to Sara Fain and Samuel John Timpone. Bill attended Therrell High School before studying mechanical engineering at Georgia Tech. Bill spent 40+ years in the smoke stack testing industry, 30+ of those years were with his own business, Advanced Air Consultants.
Bill will be remembered for sharing his love of the outdoors as an outings leader and teacher for groups, family, and friends. He was an avid canoeist and backpacker. Nothing made him happier than getting caught in the snow in the Smoky Mountains with a loaded pack on his back. Bill was a Boy Scout leader for many years. Bill never went a morning without a hot cup of coffee. He loved performing with the Believers Band and playing his clarinet. The man could fix just about anything and loved a basement full of projects and tools.
Bill was preceded in death by his mother and father, and is survived by his wife, Nianne Timpone, children, including Connor McIntosh and Mickey Timpone, sister, cousins, and grandchildren.
Bill's celebration of life will be held November 1st, 2026 at 3 pm, at the First Presbyterian Church of Gainesville, GA. Because of Bill's love for the outdoors, casual outdoor attire is encouraged. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Believers Band, the Georgia Appalachian Trail Club, or Scouting America.
