It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Warren Kenneth Miles. He passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home in Atlanta, GA on Thursday, December 5, 2024. He was 77 years old.
Warren or “Ken” to his family and friends, was born on July 22, 1947 to the late Joseph “Joe" and Jessie Mae Lewis, grandson of Roberta and Cash Miles of Marion, South Carolina.
Ken attended and graduated from Johnakin High School in May of 1965. After graduation Ken enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was deployed to Vietnam during the war where he served at the U.S. Embassy. After serving 4 years he made a career change to the airline industry. He began working for Western Airlines in 1973 where he was one of the first male flight attendants with Western. In 1987 Western Airlines merged with Delta and Ken continued working at Delta for 36 years until his retirement. During his time with Delta, Ken met the love of his life, Pascal Haas. They were married and enjoyed life for many years together traveling and seeing the world. They especially loved Paris and had a flat there for some time.
A true world traveler, Ken continued to fly and cruise to different places throughout his retirement. He was a breath of fresh air to many, always had a warm smile on his face and welcomed new friends wherever he went. He was a good-hearted and giving person, and an excellent listener who was always willing to assist and offer his time. Ken was often described as classy as he enjoyed the “finer things in life” and he knew how to have a good time. Ken was the “host with the most” enjoying entertaining and keeping in touch with family and friends by calling and visiting his loved ones. He lived life his way and will forever be missed.
Ken is preceded by his husband Pascal P.W. Haas. He is survived by his brothers Calvin Emanuel and James Miles and sisters in law Clara Emanuel and Bessie Miles. Nieces – Tracie Miles, Felicia Miles. Nephews – Jermaine Emanuel and Terrance Miles. Great Nieces - Tiara Miles, Tiana Miles, Akeicia Belmer, Zoe Emanuel. Great Nephews - Justin Emanuel and Cash Miles-Neal. He also survived by his dear God-son Douglass Ross II and God-sister Kara Watley and a host of close friends who loved him dearly.
