Vandy Euris Vanderford, 70, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away on July 3, 2026 after a long illness. Born on February 9, 1956, in Raleigh, North Carolina, Vandy built a life defined by hard work, love for his family, and a deep connection to his community.
A natural entrepreneur, Vandy spent his career building and running a variety of businesses over the years, from furniture to LED signs. He brought the same energy and determination to every venture he took on, always ready for the next challenge. When he wasn't working, you could often find him out on the water — fishing was more than a hobby for Vandy, it was where he found peace. He was also a familiar and beloved presence in his community, always willing to lend a hand or share a laugh with a neighbor.
Vandy was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He cherished his family fiercely and found great joy in the time he spent with them.
Vandy is survived by his loving wife, Heidrun; his daughter, Crystal; his stepson, Clint, and his family; his grandchildren, Arthur and Sunny, who brought him immense joy; his sisters, Carol and Vicky, and her husband, Michael; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Jean.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Winter's Chapel in Atlanta, Georgia, to celebrate Vandy's life and honor his memory.
Vandy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His warmth, humor, and love for his family will live on in the hearts of everyone he touched.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for your continued thoughts and prayers.
