Timothy “Tim” Allen Hales, of Suwanee, GA, passed away on July 31, 2025, at the age of 76 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on July 18, 1949, in Elyria, OH, to his late parents, John A. and Flora A. Hales.
Tim graduated from Elyria High School in 1967 and went on to attend Cedarville College, where he met the love of his life, Carol. They were married in December 1969 and began their family in Elyria, where their son, Scott, and daughter, Andrea, were born. Tim worked for Bendix in a variety of roles and was relocated to Pleasanton, CA, in 1978. In 1980, he was transferred to Reno, NV, where their youngest daughter, Jessica, was born. The family moved to Alpharetta, GA, in 1984, where they became active members of Peachtree Corners Baptist Church. It was there that Tim also discovered a passion for tennis. He retired from Bendix in 2011, concluding a 40-year career. In 2015, Tim and Carol joined First Redeemer Church after moving to Suwanee, GA.
Tim was an enthusiastic participant in ALTA and USTA tennis and gave generously of his time through various volunteer roles. He served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and participated in ministries such as Happy Hearts and There’s Hope for the Hungry. He also enjoyed welcoming people by driving golf carts at First Redeemer. One of his favorite ways to give back was by sharing his love of music—particularly his Victrolas and extensive record collection—with residents of local assisted living facilities.
Family held a special place in Tim’s heart. Whether near or far, he carried deep love for his children and grandchildren throughout his life.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Carol; his son, Scott (Ginger) Hales of Duluth, GA; his daughters, Andrea (Corey) Bolt of Gainesville, GA, and Jessica (Mark) Musselwhite of Cumming, GA; and his grandchildren, Jacob (Ariana) Hales, Nathan Hales, Haley Bolt, Carson Bolt, Carter Bolt, Brooke Musselwhite, and Doc Musselwhite. He is also survived by his brothers, Richard (Diane) Hales of Elyria, OH, and Gary (Barbra) Hales of Grafton, OH, along with many cherished nieces and nephews.
