Raymond Navarro, 81, passed away at his home in Woodstock, Georgia on Friday, January 10, 2025. His lifelong prayer was granted as he laid his head to rest for the final time Thursday and awoke in heaven! His passing has left a tremendous void for his family here on earth but was most definitely a glorious reunion with those that went before him. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Cynthia Marie Navarro, sons Tony and Tristan Navarro, and daughters Georgette Sinclair and Amanda Navarro Bierkamp (John). He will be remembered and missed by his grandchildren Adrian Cox, Isabel Navarro and Annabelle Sinclair. His homecoming was surely an amazing site as he was greeted in heaven by his parents, Antonio Navarro and Mary Torres, and his beloved granddaughter Emma Renae Navarro.
Raymond was born and raised in Los Angeles, California alongside his sister, Dora. He graduated in 1961 from Woodrow Wilson High School and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran who served his country in the USAF from 1961 to 1965 and then again from 1966 to 1970 when he was honorably discharged. He followed his time in the military by attending and graduating from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor’s degree in anthropology in 1972.
He later moved to Atlanta, Georgia where he met his wife, Cindy, and they raised their children. Ray had a successful career of 22 years with the U.S. Marshal Service from 1977 to 1999. He was fortunate to retire early and dedicate his later life to raising his son Tristan. This inspired his invaluable work volunteering with Cherokee County’s CASA organization for several years.
His leisure time was spent traveling across the country and working in his yard creating beautiful landscapes. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Holly Springs. He was incredibly loved by his family and will be truly missed.
