Gail Whipple Slocum

Gail Whipple Slocum died September 16, 2026 with her children by her side. In death she joins Larry, her beloved husband of 60 years, who died in January 2024. Having attended the University of Buffalo and graduated from the Wyoming County Hospital School of Nursing, she worked as a nurse in New York, Colorado, California, and Florida, putting Larry through college and later supporting her children’s educations. Her greatest joy in life was her family, and she loved being a grandmother. Gail will be remembered for her great hugs, her love of chocolate, her quick wit, and her (sometimes bawdy) sense of humor. Gail is survived by her children Brian Slocum (Alejandro Sanchez) and Lindsey Slocum Penirelli, and her grandchildren Lauren Dalphond, Hayley Dalphond, Devan Dalphond, and Dominick Penirelli. She is also survived by her siblings Peggy (Whipple) Seward and Paul Whipple. The family will hold a private memorial.
