Francis B. Buda M.D. of Atlanta, Georgia, retired physician and current Social Security Administration medical consultant, passed away on January 13, 2025, after a brief illness. Frank was born November 20, 1942, in Hoboken, New Jersey and grew up with his three siblings, Alfred, Ann and Joseph. Following his education in New Jersey and Massachusetts and serving more than eight years as a physician in the U.S. Army, Frank lived in California and Florida before settling in Atlanta where he lived for the past 35 years. Over the course of his life he was a successful Pediatric Neurologist, practicing most recently at the Atlanta Medical Center and a Somnologist practicing at centers across the area. He was known for his welcoming Friday evening gatherings and holiday parties, his kindness and quick wit and dedication to his family and friends. Frank possessed a zest for life, traveling around the world with his family and friends and exuded a fun-loving personality and joyful smile. He was charismatic and full of life, able to find positivity in any situation. Frank’s memory will live on through his daughter Sara Mauser, his son-in-law Kamden and his three grandsons Kamden, Colin and Kyle as well as a host of friends in the greater Atlanta area and family members and friends around the country. A private family service is planned.
