Edward "Eddie" Wagner May passed away on Sunday, April 20th, 2025. To those who knew and loved Eddie, his easy-going personality, athletic swagger, and unfiltered sense of humor will be sorely missed.
Born with a competitive edge and physical aptitude, Eddie found early success in sports, even earning a basketball scholarship to college. He excelled in martial arts as well and received advanced black belt degrees in karate. Ultimately though, he devoted his talents to tennis , where he played competitively throughout his adult life.
A lifelong learner, Eddie could have scholarly conversations on a wide array of topics, ranging from natural sciences to the humanities and beyond. He was an intellectual who needed no outside affirmation or pedigree to establish credibility; a few minutes in meaningful conversation with Eddie was enough to show that no matter how much you thought you knew about a topic, there was still more to learn.
Eddie built his own pressure washing business called " Wonder Wash " and took great pride in that until he retired 5 years ago. He mentored many people who were struggling with addiction issues and later in life found peace and joy through his paintings and gardening.
Eddie is survived by the love of his life, Debbie ; siblings, Nancy Bodiford (Jim) Lisa Merillat (Mike) and his brother, Andy May (Shelley). He is also survived by his nephews, Jeremy, Andrew and Grayson and his niece Dawn as well as numerous great nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his beloved Airedale terriers Monty and Sophie.
