Virginia (Plummer) Noveck age 99, passed away September 8, 2024 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born and raised in Somerset England. She served in the WAAF – Women’s Auxiliary Airforce division of the RAF – Royal Air Force, as a meteorologist in World War II. In 1946, she moved to America, as a war bride. She was incredibly proud of her English roots; after moving to America, she chose to become an American citizen. Obtaining her citizenship brought her joy and pride. She worked for Sears Roebuck & Co from 1964 to 2002, taking a one-year sabbatical when her beloved husband Charlie died in 1978. She loved to knit, crochet, embroider, bird watch, and garden. She achieved her Master Gardener certificate in 1991. She shared her love of gardening with her daughters, granddaughter, and anyone who would listen. She was an avid player of Scrabble, Rummikub, Cribbage, Scattergories, Crossword Puzzles, and Puzzles in general. Her greatest love and source of pride was her large and beautiful family, who she bragged about to everyone.
She is survived by her six children, Mike (Ginny) Schobinger, Jan (Kenny) Myers, Debbie Weisser, Lynn King, Robin Schobinger (Peter), and Margaret Poharcyk. 8 Grandchildren, Heather (Donell) King-Smith, David (Heather) and Matthew (Alexis) King, Shane Fassell, Todd (Megan) and Kimberly Myers, and Sarah and Keith (Laura) Weisser. She was also blessed with 10 Great-Grandchildren, Jakob Guerra, Hunter, Hailey, David Jr., and Izabelle King, Rory and Greyson Myers, Ziggy and Violet Weisser, and Jack Wise. As well as many nieces, nephews, great-niece and great nephews in England.
The family would like to express its deepest gratitude to Taunya Jenkins, her beloved home aid for the last 2 years. She became so much more than an aide; she was a wonderful companion and has become part of the family. She cared for Virginia with kindness, compassion, and kept her in line when needed. We would also like to extend our thanks to the wonderful hospice care she received from McLean Hospice care.
It was Virginia’s wish that there be no formal services.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials in her honor be made to Mclean Hospice, American Lung Association, Farmington Volunteer Fire/Rescue, or a Volunteer Fire/Rescue service of your choice.
