Theresa E. Sterpka

Terry grew up in Winsted, Connecticut and graduated from Gilbert High School. She married William Sterpka in 1966. Terry and Bill went on to raise two children, Christopher, and Hope. She held various bookkeeping and accounting positions at Scasco Oil and Lippincott Van Lines. She then combined her passion for giving back to the community and helping children through her work as an administrative assistant at Northwest Regional 7 in Winsted and Botelle Elementary School in Norfolk, CT.

Terry enjoyed making crafts of all varieties for her family and friends. She loved all animals from gerbils to racoons and everything in between but especially her dogs. She rescued many dogs including multiple greyhounds.

A devoted and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother, Terry always placed her family first. She cherished her younger brother Ralph and their close relationship. Terry and Bill retired to Titusville, Florida to take care of her parents as they aged. She adored her children and especially her grandchildren never missing an opportunity to shower them with love and spend time playing games, taking them to the zoo or simply cooking her Italian specialty meals.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 56 years, William Sterpka, parents Ralph and Elsie Stanizzi, and her in-laws William and Mildred Sterpka. She is survived by her two children and their families: (Son) Christopher Sterpka, his wife Georgia and their two children Abby and Megan; (Daughter) Hope Utterbeck, her husband Ron and their six children, Corey, Nicole, Kristin, Bradley, Kyle and Kasey along with her (Brother) Ralph Stanizzi and his wife Lori.

A Catholic Memorial Mass is planned for Saturday, October 21st at the St. Joseph Church in Winsted, CT at 11:00am.
