Mary Archambeault Flores

It is with heavy hearts but fond memories that we announce the passing of Mary Rose (Archambeault) Flores. Mary was born on March 30, 1959, to Elizabeth (Gualtieri) Archambeault and Phillip J. Archambeault, Sr of Bristol, CT. Mary leaves behind her beloved sons, Jason Flores, Sr (Bristol, CT), and Edgar Flores, Jr (Clarksville, TN), and her former husband, Edgardo Flores, Sr. She was a cherished grandmother to Jason (JJ) Flores, Karissa Flores and Kayden Miles-Regitko. One of eleven children, Mary is survived by her loving siblings and their spouses: Myra Malan; Veronica and (Gary) Colligan; James and (Ying) Archambeault; Frank and (Elizabeth) Archambeault; Joseph Archambeault; Carol Archambeault; and Carl and (Liping) Archambeault, Sr, and also leaves behind dozens of nieces, nephews, and cousins and their families. She was predeceased by her parents and by siblings, William Archambeault, Sr.; Elizabeth (Archambeault) Richards; and Philip J. Archambeault, Jr.

Mary, a lifelong resident of Bristol, was a graduate of Bristol Central High School. She dedicated many years of caring service to patients of Bristol Hospital, where she also formed heartfelt connections with several co-workers. Mary’s most joyful moments were spending time with her parents, family and an enormous network of close, lifelong friends. Known affectionately as the "Mayor of Fun," Mary was always the life of any party and became an instant friend to everyone she met. She found pleasure in traveling (especially cruising), attending concerts and musicals, singing with others, watching her sons perform music or play hockey, organizing camping adventures, and playing BINGO and slots at Foxwoods. Mary always dressed with style, lots of sparkle, and a sense of celebration. At the holidays, she created giant trays of cookies for family and friends, always spreading cheer. Mary was an artist who crafted jewelry and home decorations year-round, featuring her signature bold colors and humor. Mary was always a happy spirit. Her generous heart, contagious laughter, sound advice, and unlimited capacity for love that enriched the lives of all who knew her will be greatly missed.

Per Mary’s request, her life will be celebrated privately among her family and friends. Her ashes will be interred next to her parents at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Bristol. In lieu of flowers or cards, the family requests that donations be forwarded in her name to the Smilow Cancer Center in Waterford, CT; or Bristol Health, Home Care & Hospice.
