

Mark A Salie passed away on Sat. July 4, 2026 at the age of 66. He was born on February 14, 1960 in Rockledge Floridia and grew up in Malden Massachusetts. He received his Masters Electrical License in MA and his Electrical License in CT. This career helped him care for his family by owning his own electrical company, and then he worked up and down the east coast until settling in CT 15 years ago. He was also a proud Gloucester Elks #892 member for the past 21 years, helped with many fundraisers and visited many other Elk clubs during his travels.
He loved to spend his time riding his motorcycle “Dorothy”, camping with friends and family, playing on pool and golf leagues, bowling, and going to the shooting range. He was married at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church where he used his electrical and other talents to help maintain his church. He was also co-coordinator of the free community meals hosted there each Sunday.
He is preceded in death by his parents Donald Salie and Marilyn Gurley Salie and his heart, son Robert Kelliher.
He is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth Currie Salie, daughter Danielle Salie (Keith Wilkins) and grand daughters Sarah, Amber and Bobby-Jean, daughter in law Jackie Garofalo Kelfkens (Grant) and grand son Rex, and son in law Vincent Garofalo III (Krista).
The family would like to thank Yale New Haven Hospice for the care given during his sudden and courageous battle with stage IV pancreatic/liver cancer.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, family member, and friend whose kindness, generosity, and unwavering love touched the lives of everyone who knew him. He will be remembered for his playful spirit, his quick wit, and his remarkable ability to make others smile.
Family and friends are invited to attend a service on Saturday August 1st at 10:30 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 31 Main Street, East Haddam, CT.
