Louis William DeClaybrook III beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather was called home on September 4th, 2024. Born into this world on January 30th, 1963 to his late parents Barbara Helen McBride and Louis William DeClaybrook Jr. Louis was a beacon of strength and kindness by his commitment to his family, his unwavering work ethic, and his compassionate demeanor in the lives of all who knew him.
He is survived by his cherished wife of 41 years, Sonia Martinez DeClaybrook. Alongside their 4 children Emily (DeClaybrook) Dukes, Elaine DeClaybrook, Elsie (DeClaybrook) Adams, and Louis W. DeClaybrook IV. His wisdom and guidance will continue through his beloved grandchildren (5): Max, Omari, Sydney, Sylesia, and Vesuvius. And will be remembered by family, friends and colleagues.
Louis was a life-long resident of Connecticut, born at Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford. A proud alumnus of Bloomfield High School class of 1981. He Later furthered his education with an Associate’s Degree, which paved the way for a 30-year career in the manufacturing industry where his diligence and commitment were a testament to his dedication and character.
Louis found joy in the simple pleasures of life: from spending time with his children & grandchildren, to watching a good round of boxing, to being a die-hard Pittsburg Steelers fan, having a cold beer with the sound of good music and date nights with his wife. His presence was a source of strength and comfort to those who knew him.
Known for his generosity of spirit and kindness, his absence creates a void that will be felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy and influence will continue to inspire those left behind.
As we say farewell to Louis W. DeClaybrook III, we do so with heavy hearts, yet are comforted in the gift of his life amongst us. His spirit, and light will forever be remembered. May he rest in eternal peace and may his memory be a blessing to all.
