

John Samuel Harris age 92 of New Britain, passed away with family by his side. John was born on May 12th, 1930 in Bridgeport hospital. He was married to his beloved wife Teola for 50 years before her passing in 2017. They made their home in New Britain, and they were a mainstay in the community.
John worked as a machine operator in New Britain and he continued to work into his 80’s as a school walk guard in the New Britain area. John spent most of his life serving as a minister alongside his wife Teola who served as a full time pioneer in the ministry as Jehovah’s Witnesses. They were known as an inseparable couple who helped hundreds of people learn about and benefit from personal bible studies and public Bible discourses.
John was always active in arranging transportation and for providing any assistance needed to help people learn more of the truths found in God’s word, the Bible. John was known for his loving and gentle nature. He made people laugh with his unique sense of humor and his jovial demeanor. He loved music, and he was an accomplished violin player. John enjoyed conducting music with an orchestra baton at large events. John was also known for having one of the most beautiful lawns and flower gardens in his neighborhood People would immediately recognize where he lived by his well-groomed yard.
John is survived by his beloved daughter’s Lisa Richardson, Debbie Dunbar, step daughter Yvonne Coil, his son-in-law Clyde (Chuck) Richardson, eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous relatives and wonderful friends.
Services will be held on Sunday, September 11th, 2022 at 4:00pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 234 Farmington Ave, Berlin, CT 06037.
There will be an after service gathering for family and friends on Sunday, September 11 at 5:00pm at the Spartans Vet Social Club, 191 High Rd, Kensington, CT 06037.
