James Adelord Rochette Jr. of Meriden, passed from this world on July 6, 2023 at age 86. He passed away surrounded by his loved ones after a brief battle with cancer. Born in New Britain, Connecticut on July 23,1936, he was the son of the late James and Velma (Payne) Rochette.
He proudly served 6 years in the Army National Guard from 1953 to 1959 where he received good conduct citations.
He worked for 33 years at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft as a machine repair technician.
In his spare time, Jim enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting and “shore dinners” with friends and family. He worshiped and volunteered at The Crystal River United Methodist Church where he helped deliver food to the CRUMC Food Pantry and visited inmates to bring the word of God and share His unconditional love.
Jim (aka Jack) will be greatly missed by his second family at A.J.’s Oasis. John Arnold and his staff treated him kindly by making sure his seat, newspapers and beverages were ready upon his arrival. He loved watching the games on tv and discussing the daily news with others.
Jim was predeceased by his son, Douglas Rochette and sister, Catherine Drymon.
He leaves his devoted daughter, Beth and husband Kurt Hourigan, his brother, Brian Rochette, nieces, Kim and Marcy Rochette, grandsons Kyle, Tyler and wife Mardi Hourigan, Brian Serrano, and great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Michael Hourigan and Brian Serrano Jr.
Services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family.
