Gina, along with her late husband Jose Quintero, followed her father Sylvester Husling to the United States in the mid-1960s with their three children, Jose Quintero Jr., Mercedes (Quintero) Blazick, and Magdalena (Quintero) Taylor. It was in Connecticut where she would later welcome her youngest two children, Kenneth Quintero and Judith (Quintero) Bauer.
Gina worked for Pfizer as a chemical engineer and lived in Oakdale, Connecticut. Gina was known for her loving personality and her bold, beautiful taste. A devoted Christian, her faith was the foundation and anchor of her life, the source of her remarkable strength. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She had a passion for all things that sparkled; diamonds, fine jewelry, clothing, and the open road. A proud Corvette enthusiast, her two Corvettes were among her most cherished possessions, each one a reflection of her vibrant and unapologetic spirit.
Gina is preceded in death by her parents, her son Jose Quintero Jr., and her former husband Jose Quintero Sr.
Gina is survived by her four surviving children, Mercedes, Magdalena, Kenneth, and Judith. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Elijah Taylor, Dakota Taylor, Kennedy Quintero, Lexus Ryan, Sierra Taylor, and Caleb Espinosa, and her two great-grandchildren, Theresa Nash-Espinosa and Sylvester Espinosa.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in August at Lakes Pond Baptist Church in Waterford, Connecticut.
