Edward A. Matusz

Edward Matusz, aged 69, of Ansonia, CT, went to be with the Lord in the early hours of August 25, 2023, after a long battle with Emphysema and Lung Cancer. Eddie was born October 20, 1953, to Marion and Kamila Matusz in Derby, CT.

Ed worked at Sikorsky Aircraft as a Quality Control Dispatcher for many years. When he retired after 35 years, he took joy in caring for “his kids”, Alana & Callen Abrams.

He was an avid fly fisherman spending many long days at his favorite fishing spots including the Farmington River and the Housatonic River. He also took much joy in watching and supporting his family in all their endeavors. He always made time to attend his nephew Callen’s baseball games and numerous dance recitals for his niece Alana.

Eddie was predeceased by his parents, his brother, Joe and his nephew Robert Rudowski. He is survived by his lifelong best friend and loving wife Debbi Matusz and sister, Irene Rudowski, brother in law Frank Orzechowski (Cec), sister in law Lynn Cavallaro, Donna Cairns and Jean Schryver (Mike Draughon). As well as many nieces and nephews that adored the man they called “Unc”.
