Donald Theodore Dean of West Hartford, CT unexpectedly passed away at his home on Saturday June 29th, 2024, at the age of 69. He was born on July 11th, 1954, in Baltimore, MD where he grew up with his large family.
Donald was a loving father who valued his time with family and took on the role of grandfather with great pride. He worked to make life special for anyone he encountered, and many people considered themselves lucky to call him a friend. He always enjoyed his time outside whether it was sitting on his porch listening to the birds, reading one of his books by Stephen King in the sun or lying back next to a campfire. He was an avid animal lover, allowing his daughters many pets through the years and taking care of a small outside cat community in MD. He created magical times all around him and left those he knew with memories to fondly look back on.
He worked as a man of many trades from owning Dean Construction down in New Orleans to retiring as a Dialysis Machine Tech at Hartford Hospital. He always completed any job to the best of his ability and took pride in every role he’s had.
He is survived by his two cherished daughters Rhiannon Thea Dean and Heather Paige Dean, as well as his adored granddaughter Juniper Fae. He is also remembered by his brothers, and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins among others.
He is reunited in death with his parents Helen and John Pickett, as well as his sisters Georgia Leonhart and Cathy Jennings.
Donald will be cremated as he wished and spread to some of the many places he loved. There will not be an in-person service to attend. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in his honor to Shriners Children’s Hospitals Donald Theodore Dean's fundraising page for Shriners Hospitals for Children (lovetotherescue.org) or to ASPCA of America https://secure.aspca.org/donate/ps-memory-sl-p1?ms=wb_con_honor-sidebar&initialms=wb_con_honor-sidebar&pcode=WEBMEMORYSLPPC.
