Glenn’s military service and educational pursuits led Diane to make many moves across the United States. Through every move and challenge, Diane remained steadfast and stouthearted, providing a strong and loving foundation for her family.
Diane found deep purpose in education, especially through her cherished work teaching second grade at Green Acres Elementary School in Pocatello, Idaho, and later at the Naval Elementary School in Charleston, South Carolina. She also valued the camaraderie and intellectual challenge of her later administrative work, serving as a secretary in the Department of Microbiology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, and later in the Biology Department at The Johns Hopkins University.
Diane was actively involved in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed pressing flowers, watercolor painting, and making jewelry. Diane loved the ocean and maritime atmosphere; but above all, she loved collecting antiques and creating a warm, happy home for those she loved.
The family would like to thank Nancy Smith, Richard Ragmali, Cecil Klaus, Dr. Charles Beckman, and Dr. Catherine Arnold for their care and compassion over the years and during Diane’s final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial celebration at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Madison, Connecticut, on date and time to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in her honor to The American Cancer Society, or Children’s Hospital of your choice.

A Letter to My Sweet Departed Wife, Diane
Oh, how deeply I now understand the lyrics of Pink Floyd’s song “Sorrow.”
It brings me comfort to know that a lifetime of aches and pain has left your earthly body and that your soul is free. Yet I still search for your smiling face, your gentle and calm mind, your soft loving hands, and the heart I came to depend on to lift my spirits and quiet my own.
The light has gone from my world. Only our faith in Jesus Christ gives me hope that we will see one another again.
Until then, I am left with the memories of our loving life together—the talks, the laughter, and the dreams we shared. Love is such a small word to encompass all that it entails. You found your way into my heart, and there you will remain for eternity.
How short those 60 years now seem. Yet, they must serve as my sustenance and guidance until we are reunited.
With all my love,
Your Husband, “G”
Glenn
