Melvin J. Fenerty

After a long illness Melvin (Mel) J. Fenerty, 92, died at home on April 27, 2022. He was surrounded by his wife and two daughters.

While Mel was born in Philadelphia, he spent most of his life in Delaware County. He was predeceased by his parents, Carroll and Gertrude Fenerty (nee Bender), as well as four brothers and one sister.

Mel is survived by his wife, Anne, of seventy years; daughters Karen Paré (John) and Cheryl Olsen; four grandchildren, Nicholas Paré (Megan), Arthur Olsen (Angela Davis), David Olsen (Sandie), and Anne Olsen (Payton Wanstreet); great-granddaughter, Reagan Olsen, great-grandson Elliott Paré; nephew Thomas Fenerty (Mary); and a close extended family.

Mel attended St. Joseph’s Prep, St. Joseph’s College, received his MBA from Drexel University, and achieved his C.P.A. After working in the industry as a Treasurer for many years, he went onto owning his own C.P.A. firm for over 3 decades.

Mel was proud of serving as Governor of the Serra Club (District 28), President of the Serra Club (Central Delaware County), his association with the Knights of Columbus as a 4th degree Knight, as well as being a Navy veteran.

Mel delighted in playing golf at Rolling Green Golf Club (48 years) and passed his love of the sport through the generations to his grandchildren.

Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary Magdalen (2400 N. Providence Road, Media, PA) on June 30, 2022. Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM, and Mass will begin at 10:30 AM to be followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery, Media PA.
