Born on October 3rd, 1955, to Henry Hamre and Margaret Corbett-Hamre in Delaware County, Kathy grew up surrounded by love and a strong sense of purpose. She graduated from Ridley High School in 1973 and pursued her passion for political science at West Chester University, earning her degree and dedicating her life to serving others.
Kathy began her career at the Delaware County District Attorney's Office as an administrative assistant, where she spent 30 years committed to public service. After retiring, she transitioned into real estate, where she helped many families find homes throughout Delaware County. Her dedication to assisting others continued with Hamre Homecare LLC, the home healthcare business she ran for over 20 years, providing compassionate care and support to countless individuals and their loved ones.
Outside of her professional life, Kathy was known for her deep love for family. She shared a special bond with her niece, Pattyann Hamre, and great-niece, Kaitlyn McDevitt, who brought her immense joy. Her beloved partner, Bobby Cornett, was her unwavering source of love and support, enriching her life every day. Kathy also had a lifelong affection for animals, showing her kindness and care for all living beings.
Kathy was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Margaret Hamre, and her brother, William Hamre. She is survived by her niece Pattyann Hamre, great-niece Kaitlyn McDevitt, sister-in-law Patricia Unruh, and her devoted partner, Bobby Cornett.
A Celebration of Life will be held on January 4th, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Faith Community Church in Brookhaven, PA.
