Josephine Pitt

Josephine Dixon Pitt, aged 83, was born on March 16, 1942 2nd of 6 children in Philadelphia, PA. She peacefully transitioned on the 15th of February 2025 at Penn Presbyterian Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.

Daughter of James Dixon and Katie Handy, 2nd born of Six children in Philadelphia, PA. Sister to Jimmie Dixon, Harold Dixon, Eloise Dixon, Alyce Williams and Aranita Williams

Josephine is preceded in death by her parents and siblings.

She graduated from the Community College of Philadelphia. She became a Computer Programmer with Conrail PA Truck Lines from where she retired. She was truly Fearless & Independent Businesswoman deciding to start her own Enterprise, The 56th Street Omni Ctr. Which Flourished for over 10 years until declining health led to its closure. She also served as a deaconess for many years attending Deliverance Evangelistic Church under the guidance of Pastor Benjamin Smith many years.

She was a very proud woman totally devoted to her family and friends.

Beloved mother of Stephanie Renee Eddins and Grandmother of Rodney Lee Eddins and Aunt of LaVarr Dixon, Aranita Williams, Crystal Wilkerson & Alyce Branch. Great Aunt to Andrew Robert Branch, Chardene LaQuet Williams, Kayla Imani Williams, Janae Reavis, Ayanna LaShae Reese,

Alysha Queen Core and a host of great-grandchildren of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
