Jim was born January 9, 1940 in Trenton, NJ to Frank and Florence Everett Chamberlin and grew up on a small farm in West Windsor, NJ. He graduated from Princeton High School in 1958. He worked for Auld Insurance for a few years prior to enlisting in the United States Air Force (1961-1965). He chose the medical field while in the service and he loved it. While stationed at McCoy Air Base in Florida, he met his wife Barb.
Jim worked in the insurance business most of his life after completing his service. Starting with New Jersey Manufacturers in Trenton, NJ and retiring from Selective Insurance. During his career, he found his medical knowledge to be very beneficial with many cases.
Jim loved working with his hands. There were many ‘Home” projects where he could be creative with whatever the job was. Building an enclosed porch with roof deck, sheds, fences and an awesome fort in the backyard when the boys were little were just a few of his creations that kept him busy over the years. As new families moved into the new houses being built behind our’s, all the new kids would eventually make it to the fort. During the warmer months, he loved working in the yard. Hours spent meticulously trimming hedges and watering annuals that changed every year. If he sat to relax, he’d be watching the birds interact at numerous feeders.
He will be greatly missed by his family and all that knew him.
Jim is survived by his wife Barbara (Cain) of 61 years, two sons; Jim Jr. (Beth Hinkle) of Yardley, PA and Timothy of Levittown, PA. Two Sister-in-Laws; Barbara L. Chamberlin of West Windsor, NJ and Joan Truelove of Franklin, IN and one Brother-in-Law Dale Cain from Mitchel, IN. There are also many nieces, nephews and cousins that will miss him as well.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his big sister Isabelle Ritter, his brother Frank L. Chamberlin Jr., his sweet Daughter-in-Law Lisa, as well as his beloved dog Echo.
