Reverend William Earle Cameron died peacefully at home Sunday, June 18, 2023, at the age of 95. He is survived by his wife Dori; children Heather, Joji and Gigi; grandchildren Renata and Jose Carlos; daughter in law Lili; sisters Vivi and Sylvi and Heather’s mother Suzanne.
Reverend Cameron was born on January 16, 1928, in Greely, Colorado, to Ancil William Cameron and Lulu Jane Beverly. He joined the Merchant Marines at age 16 in 1944, the Marine Corps in 1945; the Air Force as a Jet Fighter Pilot in 1951; became a survivor instructor in Reno, Nevada; joined the Colorado National Guard and the Air Force Reserves ending his military services on Feb. 7, 1957. He was a Veteran of both the WWII and Korean War Eras and of Peacetime. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Political Science. After a revealing spiritual experience, he went to Unity Village and after three years was ordained a Minister, serving at Unity on the Plaza, Kansas City, Mo. (1966 – 1972); Unity of Decatur, Illinois, (1972 – 1974); Unity of Philadelphia (1975 – 1976) Unity of Wichita, Kansas (1976 – 1978); Unity on the Plaza, Kansas City, Mo, (1978 – 1985); Unity of San Diego (1985 – 1987) and Unity on the Bay, Miami, Fl. (1987 to 1998). He married Dori, a Physical Therapist, in 1989. After moving to Key Biscayne in the summer of 2005, Rev. Cameron continued to work tirelessly as Senior Minister of Unity on the Bay at 411 N.E. 21 St. Miami 33137 envisioning the Edgewater area of Miami free from drug dealings and safe for parishioners to worship. At his retirement, he became Minister Emeritus of Unity on the Bay. .He was also an accomplished and published author of three books: Great Dramas of the Bible; Where Eagles Soar and The Transformational Quest with an unfinished fourth one: A Spiritual But Not Religious Good God Renaissance and 65 published articles. His message to the world in a nutshell: “God is Good all the time and all the time God is Good.”
Reverend Cameron was selected to feature in Marquis Who’s Who in America as well as being a recipient of the Humanitarian award. According to his daughter Heather, he was the best father that ever was. A funeral service is scheduled for July 23 at 2:00 P.M. by Unity on the Bay at Temple Israel, 137 N.E. 19 St., Miami, 33132
