Shirley Schwan Harris

She was born on June 25, 1931, in Hannibal, Missouri, to Gilbert Eccleston Schwan and Donna Erickson Schwan. She later attended Stephens College and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from University of Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by her beloved husband, Kenneth L. Harris, whom she met at Miami Country Day School, where she was a teacher and he served as Headmaster.

Shirley leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion that will forever be remembered by the many hearts she touched throughout her life. She is survived by her son, Kenneth B. Harris; her daughter, Donna Harris Osborne; her son-in-law, John W. Osborne; her granddaughter, Morgan Nicole Osborne; and her granddaughters, Lauren Thiel and Dustin Brenske.

A private service will be held for the immediate family, followed by a Celebration of Life for her friends and loved ones on June 26, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Miami Shores Country Club.
