

Carol was born on January 6, 1946, in Washington DC. She grew up in Alexandria, Virginia and graduated with honors from Groveton High School in Alexandria in 1964.
She attended Florida State University on an academic scholarship, where she met her husband Dan Jefferies. In 1966, Carol spent her academic year as a foreign exchange student in Florence, Italy.
Carol and Dan were married on December 9, 1967, in Alexandria, and lived in Philadelphia until 1969, when they moved to Clinton.
Carol worked as the first female supervisor at the AC Nielsen Company in Clinton until 1970, when she resigned to raise her new family.
While in Clinton, Carol was one of the founding members and served as President of the Gateway Contemporary Ballet Company. She was active and served on the boards of the Clinton Art Association and the Clinton Family YMCA.
In 1982, she and her husband purchased and were part owners of Gateway Travel Agency. Over the ensuing years, Carol traveled extensively and during her lifetime she had visited more than 150 world countries. She enjoyed giving talks on travel related topics and country destinations.
Carol became a certified personal fitness trainer in 2008, she also was a certified scuba diver and finished the Chicago Marathon in 2009.
In 2011, Carol and Dan moved west to Wyoming to be closer to their grown children and families. They split their time between Wyoming and Florida, and, ultimately became Florida residents.
Mark Twain once said, “A full life is one lived without regret,” and Carol lived life to the fullest without regret.
Carol is survived by her husband and three children--Justin of Sydney, Australia, Ashely of Boulder, Colorado, and Jordan of Arvada, Colorado. She has seven grandchildren and one sister, Diane Zier of Austin, Texas.
Funeral arrangements are pending at the Snell Zornig Funeral Home in Clinton.
