Peter was an avid sailor with many miles under his keel. He had a sharp mind and a wicked sense of humor. He was a chemist by trade and eventually ran the lab at Superior Graphite. He retired to the Pacific Northwest and spent his time fishing, sailing, and traveling. He will be greatly missed. He always said to us, “I am a lucky man…” We were lucky to have him in our lives.
He is survived by his wife Ilse-Marie Reichert, his children Peter Zaleski III (Betty), John Zaleski (Sarah), Paul Zaleski (Debbie), Pam Zaleski (Darrell), and Mark Zaleski (Maureen), his step-sons Marcus Reichert and Kristopher Reichert (Natalie) , 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and 6 step grand-children. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Lorraine Zaleski, parents Virginia and Peter Zaleski, and sister “Ginny” Zaleski.
A memorial will be held on Saturday, August 5th, 2023 at 1pm at the Elliot Bay Marina in Seattle Washington.
