Marilynn Louise Brock

Marilynn lived a full and joyful life surrounded by family and friends. She cherished the outdoors—camping, hiking, skiing—and had an adventurous spirit, but her greatest joy was traveling the world. Her love of travel began with a special trip to London with her daughter, Mariah, for her high school senior trip. That spark never faded.

In 2023, Marilynn embarked on her first cruise with her eldest granddaughter, Mariella, through the Panama Canal. That journey ignited a new passion, and she quickly began planning her next voyage to Buenos Aires. By 2024, she was at sea more often than at home. She rang in the year with an unforgettable cruise to Antarctica with her cousin’s wife, Kay Soltis, followed by adventures to Australia and Alaska. Her final cruise, in October, took her to China, accompanied by her eldest grandson, Atticus. Between travels, she found joy in local excursions and activities with her senior center community.

Marilynn will be remembered as someone who always offered help, shared wisdom freely, and stood firmly for what she believed in. A devoted single mother of two, she was resourceful and thrifty—qualities she carried with pride. Only recently did she part ways with her beloved vintage wood console television for a flat screen, and it wasn't until her trusty harvest yellow refrigerator finally gave out that she reluctantly replaced it—handle missing and all.

Marilynn was preceded in death by her parents, Steven and Marie Soltis; her brother, Gerald Soltis; and her beloved daughter, Mariah Sebastien. She is survived by her son, Brandon Brock, and was a proud grandmother to four cherished grandchildren: Mariella Brock, Atticus Sebastien, Taylor Brock, and Tallula Sebastien.

A celebration of Marilynn’s life will be held at her home on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 12:00 p.m.

Marilynn had a deep love for animals, especially cats and wolves. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in her memory to Wolf Haven International (wolfhaven.org) or K9s For Warriors (k9sforwarriors.org).
