Lonny Jess: 9/16/39 to 6/20/2023 at Passed away at Swedish Hospital in Edmonds, Washington at the age of 83. Lonny was born in Seattle, Washington in 1939 and spent most of his life living in the State of Washington. Lonny held several jobs including owning his own service station to retiring as a manager of Airgas in Bellevue with over 30 years of service. He then went into business owning his own gas station in Bellevue, Washington.
Lonny was very compassionate and kind. He had a heart for the Lord and heart for people. It did not matter where he was, a park, restaurant, cruise ship, etc. You could always find him chatting away with some stranger and within 20 minutes he knew their entire life story including their struggles. He was a great listener and knew how to encourage people with the Word of God and Jesus’ love each and every one of us. He did take counseling training at his church and became a lay counselor which he found very rewarding.
Some of Lonny’s interests were football, fishing and boating on his 19 foot Bayliner and inventing new products or improving older ones, and reading and studying his Bible.. He also enjoyed spending time with his son and daughter going on rides.
Lonny is survived by his son Troy Jess and daughter-in-law Susan; his daughter Tracy Jess and his granddaughter Ashley Jess which he adored. Lonny is also survived by his sister, Jeannie as well as many nieces and nephews. He has many close family relatives of his wife’s side. Amy. Lonny is preceded in death by his wife Amy Jess, his father Victor Jess, his mother Mabel Jess, and his brothers Larry Jess, Victor Jess Jr., Richard (Mike) Jess, Lynn Jess and Rocky Jess.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Canyon Hills Community Church in Bothell, Washington on July 15th, 2023 at 11:30 am. Reception following.
