He was born on December 18,1941, and grew up in DeKalb, Texas. He graduated from East Texas State University and worked as a Government Contract Manager at Rockwell in Richardson, Texas before retiring to the Seattle area.
Jim loved all sports but especially golf, tennis, baseball, and running, as well as cheering for his favorite Dallas Cowboys. He was actively involved in caring for many rescue dogs over the course of his lifetime, playing cribbage with his fellow golfers, and traveling to Texas to visit his beloved children and grandchildren.
Jim is survived by his wife Linda and his three children, Clay Riggins of Topsail Island, NC, Tracy Halford of Gulf Shores, AL, and Terri Drawert of Allen TX, seven grandchildren, Chase, Riley, Tatum, Chance, Avery, Jack, and Logan and sister Cathy Whitecotton of Wylie, TX.
The family would like to thank the staff at Overlake Hospital for the care and compassion they showed Jim in his final days.
