Over the years, he worked as a plumber and electrician including industrial maintenance. He also farmed, including everything from equipment maintenance to plowing fields all over Whatcom County. After retirement, he enjoyed watching sports, spending time with his family at their long-time family home in the heart of Ferndale, WA. In his spare time, he raced sprint cars at Skagit Speedway and Deming Speedway and was an avid NASCAR fan. He also maintained the Ferndale softball fields, coached, he played league softball, and in tournaments all over the region and in BC, Canada.
He is preceded in death by his father Herman Eshuis, mother Leona Eshuis, brother Jim Eshuis, sister Kathy Eshuis, brother Richard Eshuis, sister Diane “Butch” Matney, sister Judy Spence, brother Dean Eshuis.
He is survived by his wife Linda L. Eshuis, daughter Kalene Fox, son Gary Terpsma, daughter Krista Owens, daughter Kelli Garcia (husband Tony Garcia), sister Lois Velthuizen, brother John Eshuis (wife Linda Eshuis), Alvin Eshuis (wife Darlene Eshuis), and many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service with a celebration of life to follow on Friday, January 26, at 12:00pm at the American Legion Post 7 at 1688 West Bakerview Rd, in Bellingham WA.
