Denise Alexes Jacobs, a beloved daughter, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully in Seattle, Washington, on September 10, 2026, at the age of 76. Born in Napa, California, on June 2, 1950, Denise spent much of her life surrounded by the beauty and community of the Napa Valley and later moved to the beautiful Pacific Northwest to be closer to her daughter, Erica.
Denise was the daughter of the late Sue Oshida and Alex Rogers. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Corey Rogers and Roxanne Rogers. She is survived by her sisters, Doris Boggs, Sue
Ann Healy, and Deb Bryan, and by her beloved daughter, Erica, and son-in-law, Jason.
Denise had a remarkable career as an Executive Assistant, where her intelligence, impeccable organizational skills, creativity, and ability to bring grace to everything she did made her an invaluable presence. Over the years, she worked with distinguished Napa Valley organizations, including Robert Mondavi Winery and Opus One Winery, and most recently served as Executive Assistant to the Chief Administrative Officer of Queen of the Valley Hospital in Napa.
But Denise’s greatest gifts extended far beyond her professional life. She had an extraordinary ability to make things beautiful and meaningful. She generously shared her artistic talents and organizational gifts with local charities throughout the Napa Valley and devoted her time to volunteering with the local Humane Society. She had a tender heart for animals, and her beloved pets Bailey, Palmer, Tucker, Oona, and Nikko held a very special place in her heart. She found genuine joy in caring for animals and in helping those who could not speak for themselves.
Denise was an avid reader and a lover of all things artistic. She appreciated beauty in its many forms and possessed an unmistakable sense of style of her own. She was known for her beauty, sharp intellect, quick wit, and wonderfully dry sense of humor. She could make people laugh with a perfectly timed comment or a knowing look, and her generosity often appeared in quiet, thoughtful ways that made others feel cared for and remembered.
Those who knew Denise will remember not only the things she accomplished, but the unmistakable presence she brought into a room—her intelligence, her distinctive style, her humor, her creativity, and her generous spirit. She was a woman of substance and character who left an impression on the people fortunate enough to know and love her. While she will be profoundly missed, the beauty she created, the kindness she gave, the laughter she shared, and the lives she touched will continue to carry her memory forward.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Denise’s memory to The Humane Society, an organization reflecting her lifelong love and compassion for animals.
Denise will be remembered, missed, and loved—always.
