Augostino Rossi, 80, of Edmonds, Washington, passed away on February 3, 2025. He was born in Detroit, Michigan to Italian immigrant parents and grew up on a farm with five brothers and sisters. He studied Mechanical Engineering at Wayne State University and served in the US Marine Corps, completing a tour of duty in Vietnam.
Augostino had a gift for both the mechanical and the organic. In his youth, he loved working on cars and could tear down and rebuild an engine, later putting that ability to work for innovative engineering companies. He also had a lifelong passion for gardening, growing vegetables wherever he lived and sharing the harvest with family and friends. He loved nature and animals, and was an avid hiker on trails around the Pacific Northwest.
He is survived by his children, Nickolas and Jessica; his grandsons, Trenton and Enzo; sister Gigi; and brothers Pete and Jack.
A memorial service will be held at Lifetime Celebrations, 18224 103rd Ave. NE, Bothell, WA, on February 21, 2025 at 2pm.
