Arthur Maurice DuLong III

Art spent much of his career as a store manager for Safeway, where he took pride in caring for both customers and employees. Art had a special love for growing dahlias, a hobby he enjoyed and shared with his family.

Family was at the center of Art’s life. He shared 61 years of marriage with the love of his life, Sandra. Building a life filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories while raising their four children: Lauretta, Jeff, Lynnette, and Brian.

Art had a natural ability to make people smile. His dry sense of humor, quick wit, and playful personality could light up any room. He was the kind of man who could deliver a perfectly timed one-liner with a straight face, make everyone burst into laughter, and then quietly help someone without expecting credit.

He was the happiest when he was creating projects with his grandchildren. He loved traveling and cheering them on in their sports and other endeavors. The care, creativity, and ingenuity he poured into every project became gifts that his family will treasure for years to come.

Above all, Art was kind and welcoming. He valued people, treated everyone with respect, and embraced life with humor and generosity. His signature a simple thumbs-up 👍, a gesture that perfectly reflected his optimistic spirit.

Art is survived by his loving wife, Sandra; his children, Lauretta (Paul) Lewis, parents of Lauren and Racquel: Jeff DuLong, father of Sarah and Kaden; Lynnette (Matt) Garmon, parents of Cameron, Sydney, Devon, and Roshelle; and Brian (Nicole) DuLong. He is also survived by his sister, Donna Finlon Wybo, and brother-in-law Randy Porter, and many nephews and nieces on both sides of the family.

Art cherished being part of the Catholic faith that connected him to generations before him and gave him hope of one day being reunited with those he loved. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Sherrie Porter.

A Mass will be celebrated August 18th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, followed by a Celebration of Life. St. Cecilia Catholic Church is located at 26900 78th Ave NW, Stanwood WA 98292. In Lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks donations be made to the American Heart Association. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring a man who lived with humor, creativity, and an abundance of love.
