Richard W. Barkhurst

Barkhurst, Richard Wayne, 90, of Evansville, entered into eternal rest on August 2, 2019. Richard had a larger than life personality. He loved to tell jokes and laugh. He was very handsome and charismatic (just ask him!). Richard was an insurance salesman for the majority of his working career. Richard was a World War II veteran serving our country with the United States Marine Corps. He was also a Freemason. His hobbies included golfing, magic tricks, reading, weight lifting and a lifelong passion for cars.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick Joseph and Ruth (Wern) Barkhurst and brother, Frederick M. Barkhurst.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Venetia Schnarre (Shawn), Ricki Barkhurst, Marsha Lopez (Fernando), Renee Merrill (Robert), and Eric Barkhurst (Love); grandchildren, Payton, Alex, MaKenzie, Seneca, Sunshine, Bear, Robbie (Mariela), Ryan, Regan, Adam (Laura), Stephen (Tracy), and Rachel (Kelvin); great grandchildren, Astrid, Arlo, and Edie; and niece, Cynthia (Ed).

There will a private family memorial.
