He was born in Eritrea/Ethiopia in 1951.
Dr. Okbazghi Yohannes escaped to the United States in 1982 and taught business and international political science at Grambling State University and the University of Louisville, during a career in which he published numerous books and articles on political history and environmental issues.
He is survived by his wife Tamara Yohannes, and his daughter, Keren Yohannes.
